Boko Haram: What you need to know
Finally
I have decided to share my view about the whole Boko Haram crises. And I know
some people will never understand what I will say here but moreover I don't
expect everyone to understand.
Foremost I will tell you a story. God promised Abraham the land of Canaan as an everlasting inheritance for his descendants but before they possessed the land they would foremost go to a strange land and there they would spend 400 years after which God will judge their oppressors and bring them out by the EXODUS (Gen 15:13) But incidentally the children of Israel ended up spending 430 years as opposed to 400 years that God had earlier told Abraham. (Exodus 12:40) Now you might wonder, "what was God's error was he a poor mathematician?” Wait I will show you what happened.

But
first I will need to establish a fact and it is this, that God does not do
anything on the earth but by man. He can but he will not because he is a God of
principle. He will only use men to accomplish whatever task he has on earth.
"The heavens, even the heavens, are the LORD’S: but the earth hath he
given to the children of men." (Psalm 115:16). This, God did at creation
when he put man in charge of the earth. So the earth eventually is a product of
what man makes of it. Does it not baffle you that God in order to save mankind
had to condescend to such lowly estates of putting on flesh and blood. He
became fashioned a little lower than the angels what a drastic demotion.
Apostle Paul captured it perfectly in his letter to the Philippians church
"Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in
the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself
of NO REPUTATION, and took upon him the form of a SERVANT, and was made in the
likeness of men:" (Philippians 2:5-7). But it was earth and so the
redemption had to be executed by a man. And so God became man. Let me ask you
"Why was the great commission left in the hands of men? After all angels
would have been better preachers of the gospel".

Let's get back to our story of Israel and the plus 30 years they spent in Egypt. The children of Israel had a choice inheritance in Egypt, the land of Goshen which they got by the influence of Joseph, they enjoyed the peace, security, economic boom of Egypt which was a world power during that era. If you have taken time to read the history of ancient civilization, you will note that during the period in question Egypt ruled the world.
So it was in this pomp that the children of Israel bashed in. They ate fish, cucumbers, melons, leeks, onions, and garlic freely (Numbers 11:5). They were more than comfortable with the land, and they began to make plans on marriage ties with the Egyptians as a measure of completely integrating into the society and while God looked down just as He did when men built the tower of Babel He knew that there was problem. Soon He would be made a liar by the children of Israel such that His promise to Abraham will never get realized. It was then that God moved into action, He overturned the political system of Egypt and raised up a Pharaoh that knew not Joseph. I can see your eyes pop open as you ask "Do you mean God raised that wicked Pharaoh and allowed him oppress God's people?" Yes, do you seem to forget what God did with the Babylonian king Nebuchadnezzar and what his confession was that God raises kings and demote kings too (Daniel 4:34-35) What I asked myself then was "what was God intending to achieve by allowing the children of Israel pass through such unspeakable torment?", let me elucidate on the kind of oppression they had, it was such that parents who gave birth to male children had to throw them into the Nile river and mind you countless number of babies died in this cruel manner. And I got the answer that God needed to force the children of Israel out of their comfort zone; He needed to remind them that they were strangers in the land and by so doing restore in their minds that consciousness of the promise that one day they will leave the land of their sojourn. Thus the EXODUS became their dream, desire, and object of their prayer. Their cries (prayers) reached heaven. Now they had invited God to intervene and God had achieved His purpose but remember they delayed His programme by 30 years.
Now to my point, we are strangers on this earth. Our Lord
made a promise that very soon he would come and take us out of this world in
the rapture to our everlasting inheritance. By the tone of His statement to
John the beloved in the island of Patmos Revelation 22:20 (...surely I come
quickly) it sounded so soon and thousands of years have passed and I wonder why
has He not yet come till now, is it not obvious that the people He intends to
come for have all entered their comfort zones, they have settled on the earth,
they have become comfortable, they want to dominate and rule the world they are
now inter-marrying with the ideals of the world and enjoying the cucumber,
onions, and garlic of worldliness. So God needs to raise a pharaoh to knock
them out of that comfort zone into the reality that THIS WORLD IS NOT THEIR
HOME and thus lead them to cry "COME LORD JESUS". I had always known
that someday something like this would come but I always prayed that the Lord
should not allow our task masters to be so harsh but when I look at the
atrocities of Boko Haram I don't think I can dictate to the Lord about how
harsh our task masters should be. So I see Boko Haram as God's installed pharaoh
to arouse a cry for the EXODUS in the hearts of the men and women of this
country who are privileged to have such a rich Christian heritage.
Friends, I thus plead with you to join hands with me to make the rapture (OUR EXODUS) a burden of your prayer and that would foremost mean your preparation for it. May our plus 30 years not last forever on this earth…
