Whitney Houston's Family Goes To Court To Stop Bobbi Kristina From Accessing Mother's Inheritance
Whitney Houston’s family is reported to have gone to court, in an
attempt to prevent Whitney’s daughter Bobbi Kristina accessing her
inheritance.
Since Whitney’s death the Houston family has questioned Bobbi’s
behavior, from her dating her foster brother, to deciding to star in her
own reality TV show.
The trustees of Whitney’s estate have decided to file legal documents
requesting that Bobbi’s access to her inheritance be postponed, as they
fear the 19 year-old is currently surrounded by people who may possibly
exert undue influence on her over her inheritance, for their own
benefit.
Bobbi’s grandmother, Cissy is one of the trustees who is fighting to
prevent Bobbi from accessing the fortune. In the legal files published,
the trustees claim that giving Bobbi her inheritance, would conflict
with Whitney’s wishes for her daughter to have long-term financial
security, as they fear in her current mind-set she would blow the money.
Bobbi is young, and has been getting into some trouble lately, since
moving in with foster brother Nick. The pair was involved in a car
accident last week, and were wanted for questioning by police, after the
continued to drive the vehicle after it was smashed, and in an unfit
driving state. Being the sole beneficiary of Whitney’s estate, the
Houston family feels this is too much money for Bobbi to have access to
at the moment.
Whilst the court battle continues, Bobbi is currently filming for her
new reality show The Houston Family Chronicles. The show that will
centre on Bobbi is expected to be aired later this year.
