Christina Aguilera Hits Back At Critics Over Weight Loss Pressures

We’d like to commend Christina Aguilera for her refreshingly unique attitude towards industry pressures to remain rail-thin.
When it was suggested that the singing sensation appeared to be resembling Shamu the whale getting a little on the heavy side, did she adopt the standard celebrity lifestyle approach?
“I eat like, whatever I like I stick my toothbrush down my throat for breakfast  and I like, have cocaine for dinner never work out. I’ve got serious mental issues a fast metabolism I guess.”
Most certainly not.
The Beautiful singer hit
back at record executives who claimed the singer would fail to sell records or tour tickets unless she conformed to the stereotypical skinny pop-star image, saying that after her weight gain, whilst performing on her Stripped tour;
‘They called this serious emergency meeting about how there was a lot of backlash about my weight.’
‘Basically, they told me I would effect a lot of people if I gained weight — the production, musical directors.’
‘[They claimed] people I toured with would also miss out if I gained weight because I would sell no records or tickets for my shows,’ she adds.
‘I was young, so I lost the weight quickly and was toothpick thin during Back to Basics promos and touring.”
Christina decided while working on her latest musical offering, Lotus, that her days as a doormat were long gone, telling them: ‘
‘You are working with a fat girl. Know it now and get over it.’
‘They need a reminder sometimes that I don’t belong to them. It’s my body,’ she said.
‘My body can’t put anyone in jeopardy of not making money anymore—my body is just not on the table that way anymore.’
The table probably couldn’t take the strain… SORRY – force of habit.
No, really, good for you Christina, better for your local Pizza Hut.
